About the Book

Prayers, Poems, and Ponderings is a unique blend of prayer and devotional writing, rooted in Scripture and enriched with a couple of creative twists. Each selection is paired with a coordinating poem—offering a word picture of the chosen verse—and space for the reader to write a personal pondering in response.

Drawing on her experience as a longtime reading and dyslexia teacher, Sandy Emmerson understands the power of a reader’s response in deepening comprehension and connection. With verse numbers included for further study, most passages are drawn from the NIV, NLT, or ESV translations—or a thoughtful combination of the three.

Writing these selections became for Sandy not only an act of praise, but also a way to study, reflect, and spend time with Jesus—an essential rhythm of her daily worship. She invites you to do the same and hopes this book will become a meaningful companion during your quiet moments with the Best Company Ever.

May our Father bless you richly as you pray, read, and ponder.
